Maun Police are investigating a murder case in which a 28 -year- old woman died after drinking a concoction she was allegedly given by a well know traditional doctor.
Maun Police Acting Station Commander Assistant Superintendent Zhabi Hulela said that the deceased together with her 38- year- old auto mechanic boyfriend approached the traditional healer last week for undisclosed consultation.
Hulela said that the doctor gave them a concoction to drink and she was to make a follow up with more herbs at their place later but upon arrival after a few hours she found the deceased unconscious.
“She was taken to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital where she was certified dead on arrival.
We do not know what kind of help they went looking for at the traditional doctor. We also do not know what the doctor gave them and we are waiting for lab results.”
Hulela distanced himself from the reports that the deceased and her boyfriend had had gone for abortion.
“We cannot comment on abortion allegations now because we are still waiting for post mortem results and our investigations are still ongoing.
What we have is allegations that she was pregnant.” Hulela further said that both the traditional doctor and the mechanic have have been detained and are likely to be arraigned in court any time soon for murder.
