As the Be Mobile Premier league enters week five and heats up, a titanic battle is expected between Miscellaneous Sporting Club and Extension Gunners this Saturday at Swallows Grounds.
Palapye side Motlakase Power Dynamos and Miscellaneous are slowly turning the ground into their slaughter house as both teams are yet to lose a game at their newly found home ground.
Both teams face each other in this tricky fixture after receiving mixed results in the past weekend.
Miscellaneous are still licking wounds after suffering a 0-4 loss to FC Satmos which has left them perched at position six with seven points from four games.
The Lobatse outfit will also have to prove that their opening victory against Township Rollers was not a fluke. China Matlhaku’s side has picked up just one point from their last two outings.
They dropped all three points against the league debutants Orapa United and played to a 1-1 draw against Ecco City Greens in Francistown in their last fixture.
Speaking to Voice Sport Extension Gunners mentor China Matlhaku noted that although they did not collect maximum points his team has been playing quite well.
“I do not expect analysts to make conclusive judgment about my team’s performance from the four games played so far as the league has just started and there is still a long way to go.
Anyway my team has been playing as a unit and I am quite pleased with the tactical discipline and cohesion which exists in the side.”
He went on to say: “I will once again be relying on our seasoned and experienced players such as the stalwart defender Finkie Mothibi and the skillful mid-fielder Monageng Thaele,” said Matlhaku.
Matlhaku further said the return of Bafana Desire who was not available for the Ecco game due to an injury would bring stability to his defence.
“I expect the above mentioned trio to provide the much needed guidance during the game,” said the confident Matlhaku.
For his part the Miscellaneous Sporting Club Head Coach Chippa Koolese had this to say: “We have gone back to the drawing board and corrected our mistakes after our heavy 4-0 defeat to FC Satmos. I expect my players to show character and bounce back.
“We will be playing in front of our many supporters and I expect that to lift the overall performance of my team,” he said.
Koolese further said all his players are available for selection except Moenga Chakoba, the striker they recruited from Extension Gunners who is still serving a suspension after picking up a red card in their game against Ecco City Greens.
“I will once again be relying on my speedy skilful winger Segolame “Sana” Boy to unlock the Extension Gunners defence. I also expect a better showing from my own defence that will be led by the experienced defender Gofaone Molapi and my trusted goalkeeper Ontiretse Gaothobogwe,” said Koolese.
Meanwhile in the other game to be played at the same Palapye Swallows Ground on Sunday, Motlakase Power Dynamos will lock horns with the inform BDF XI.
Both games are scheduled for a 4pm kick off.
