Francistown giants, Tafic Football Club are the Debswana First Division north Champions.

Matjimenyenga secured their return to BTC Premier League with a hard-fought 3-2 victory against a stubborn Motlakase Power Dynamos in Pilikwe this afternoon.

With an impressive 54 points and just one match left, Tafic took the competition far away from their closest challengers, Morupule Wanderers, who are second with 50 points.

In an interview with Voice Sports this afternoon, Tafic Chairman Carlos Sebina said the return of Tafic to top flight football is what the city of Francistown need.

“Football is a massive business. With Tafic back, we are now assured of a vibrant city every fortnight,” Sebina said.

He said their intention is now to make sure that Tafic features in all the available Cup competitions in the country.

“My wish is to see another team from Francistown gaining promotion to the top League. Through football we can transform this city’s economy,” added Sebina.

He further said they intend to win their last match against Great North Tigers and set a new record. “For the first time Tafic has crossed the 50 point mark. To finish with 57 points will be a great achievement,” added the jubilant Sebina.
