Four passengers burnt to death at Dibete Police road-block when a combi they were travelling in burst into flames after it was hit from behind by another car.
The tragic incident took place on Saturday morning along the A1 road.
The combi which had six people altogether, was travelling from Mahalapye to Gaborone for a church service when the tragedy occurred.
According to an eyewitness, the combi had slowed down when approaching the road block but the car coming from behind failed to reduce speed and crashed into the combi, sending it veering out of control into a police tent on the roadside.
The impact is said to have ignited the fire almost immediately and whilst two of the passengers managed to escape, four remained trapped inside the vehicle where they burnt to death.
There were some traffic officers in the tent but they managed to escape without any injuries
