OPTIMISTIC: the women’s rugby team

Vultures 7s Rugby national teams are going to Zambia today (Friday) to compete in an annual Confederation of African Rugby castle tournament.
Vultures ladies team coach Shaun Lees told The Voice sports this week that he believes the team is prepared and that he is pinning his hope on his key players, captain Keneilwe Modise , Keabetswe Molefe and Masego Oston.
He said these players are aggressive and make others play.
“Keneilwe’s leadership skills on the field reassure me as a coach and she is my voice. These ladies have come a long way, they started playing full contact since 2008. They played with Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Zambia and they have lifted their standard of Rugby and in every game they played there was an improvement. We participated in this tournament last year and although we were under dogs, we came back with silverware,” Lees told voice sport
The men’s team participated in a 7s tournament over the weekend hosted by EMG Gunners at Selibe Phikwe to give them match practice and also to trim them to final 12. They managed to win all their games and Ghetto Sharks won the tournament.
