Local jazz celebrity Lister Boleseng and blower has released a live DVD “Live at the Millennium Jazz Restaurant.”
Produced by KB Productions, the two-hour long DVD was shot at the Millennium Jazz restaurant, Mogoditshane last October and features mostly material from his hit album “Life’s Journey,” which was recorded and released five years ago.
Backed by some of local jazz’s most notable names, amongst them drummer and percussionist Enoch Mbewe, Keyboardist,Elliot Morgan who are members of his Medupe Band and singers Nono and Nnunu, Boleseng gives a performance that will have his fans and other music followers wanting to play the recording over and over again.
The highlight of the DVD is when each member of the crew take turns at showing off their vocal and instrument dexterity as Lister introduces each of them to the audience to the back drop of his hit song “O tlhokana le nna” .
There is also a section where the saxophone and flute player talks about him and his music while showing off with a few licks on the saxophone. The audience at the show also had their say and the comments they made betray their love and fascination with Lister and his art.
Speaking to Voice Entertainment,Lister expressed gratitude to all those that made the project a reality and said he was looking forward to their continued support as he prepares to record his second album.
Meanwhile the DVD is to be launched at the Botswana Craft Market, Gaborone on June 3rd and is expected to sell at P100.00 per copy.
