The marathon is divided into three categories being the 21km, 10km and 4km fun race.

The objective of the marathon is to raise funds to buy sports equipment for Samane Primary School which is a few kilometers from Jwaneng.
The winner of the main race will get P500 for both men and ladies.
Registration forms are available at Shell Circle Square Filling Station and Pick ‘n Pay in Jwaneng.
Runners in Gaborone can register at Kgale Mews Unit 33 and those in other areas can also register online at www.sportsentertainment.co.bw. Entries close this Friday.
Speaking to Voice Sport this week one of the organizer of the marathon Nobantu Sebonego said the marathon will attract athletes from the mining town and different parts of Botswana.
She said the race is expected to be a critical spring breaker in the summer sporting calendar.
“Our intension is to hold this marathon every year and hopefully Botswana Athletics Association will use it as a qualifying race for major competitions in future.
Our aim is to make a difference in our communities through sport and that is why we are raising funds to help in Samane sports development.
BAA has recognised this marathon and they helped us with technical issues.” Said Sebonego
She thanked their sponsors Sunday Standard, Vivo Energy, AT & T Monnakgotla, Jwaneng Athletics Club, Emergency Assist 991and Global Holdings.
