With the be Mobile Premier League going into the second week , more mouth watering clashes are on the cards this weekend at various venues. The biggest game of the weekend is between league defenders Township Rollers and perennial rivals Extension Gunners.
On the spotlight however on Sunday will be former Rollers mentor, Daniel Nare who will once more be coming against his former team. On the opposite bench it will be the new Rollers gaffer, Wesley Mondo whose main task is to help Rollers defend their league title.
Rollers won their last weekend’s encounter 3-1 against debutants Black Peril. There were complaints from the football family that referee Dintwa Dintwa’s was incompetent on the day. He was accused of gifting Rollers a goal. On Sunday it will now be Rollers time to redeem themselves and show that they are defending the league.
Gunners on the other hand were losers in a Lobatse derby that coach Nare says should not be used to determine his teams weekend game.
At press time on Wednesday Nare told Voice Sport that they were expecting Christopher Ndayishime whom they were not sure when he will be back.
‘We had a flight problem and managed to arrange on Tuesday. We are however happy because he is in camp with the Burundi national team so it is not like he is rusty. If he joins us even on Friday I will expect him to fit into the team as we are in need of more fire power upfront,’’ said Nare.
The Lobatse side will however be missing Kgololo Leteane who hasn’t trained with the team this week.
Nare however warned Rollers not to read much into their derby results as BMC scored with a foul on the fateful day.
“On the other side we missed a bully striker as opposssed to our opponents. I don’t want to be malicious; a draw could have been a fair result. Against Rollers I expect changes in play, both on their side and ours. They are without Itai Gwandu, Terrance Mandaza and Edwin Moalosi. They will surely try new combinations as well. There is a lot to play for, they just have more quality than us yes but I never fear any team as football is a good game it is nice to play big teams. “
His counterpart at Rollers revealed that they have started the defence of the league and can’t look back.
‘’Rollers is preparing well and are looking forward to the game, it won’t be easy but we are ready. If all the Zebras players come we will be fine. I have to point out that it is very difficult to defend league titles because you are the team to beat. If the attitude is right you can do it and so far I can’t complain, we have been working on this for some time now,’’ Mondo told voice sport
‘’My players are positive, they know what is at stake, we struggled last week as it was one of those games where we kept going even up to the last minute. My opinion on the Sekhana Koko goal is that the team had many injuries from the first half so it is difficult to blame the referee he would have thought it was the same but we are very sorry with the injury their goalkeeper sustained. Obviously we would have loved it to be fair play but it wasn’t.’’ Mondo said
