Following the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of seven Gumare United football players, Gumare based artists have decided to honour their fallen heroes by releasing a single hit in their memory.
Benny Makhulu AKA Mc Jesus BW, an RNB artist based in Gumare told this publication in an interview that the seven fallen heroes needed to be celebrated in any way possible as they had contributed a lot to Gumare United football club’s growth and its achievements.
MC Jesus BW said he came up with the idea and sold it to other local artists who appreciated it and together with Tonado, Neo, Becola Jr, Kezzy and Trey Trey they composed a song named the Gumare All Stars Tribute Song to the fallen football stars. “Its lyrics expand the notion that no one knows how or when they are going to pass on as death is a scenario that exists though it is hard to accept when it has snatched someone.
MC Jesus BW further said the death of the players was a national tragedy and that it was such a sad moment to them as the Gumare community as they knew the victims personally and saw them on daily basis. “The song is circulating on social media and people have appreciated their contribution. We are celebrating these heroes and they deserve salutation from across the board,” said the singer who added that people sent their condolences in different ways and that as artists they believed a song would be imperative to salute the fallen heroes.
