For the fifth consecutive year Puma Energy Botswana has once again come to the party as official fuel sponsor for participants at the Toyota Desert Race (TDR).
This year’s TDR also marks 30 years of the sport in Botswana.
The build up to this year’s activities started on June 23 and are expected to end tomorrow with an added hype brought about by wider participation by both racers and spectators from across the region.
Commenting on the sponsorship, the Puma Energy General Manager, Mahube Mpugwa highlighted that their sponsorship was in the form of fuel that will be used by the participants.
“We are honoured to be associated with one of the country’s most popular events. What is most exciting is the fact that we are seeing more Batswana competing in the race especially in the motor bikes and quads categories,” he said.
Puma Energy’s association with this event, according to Mpugwa, underscores its commitment to collaborate with respective stakeholders in driving initiatives that benefit the communities in which they operate and also to achieve broader national goals such as the development of the tourism.
