Makhubu Junior Secondary School, which is one of the best performing schools in the country last week received a boost when Debswana sponsored their prize giving ceremony.
Giving a key note address, Communications Manager at Orapa and Letlhakane mines Keoagile Rafifing said that prize giving is a response to achievement. “It is a way of paying tribute to those students and staff who would have worked tirelessly to make the day a memorable success.
Good performance is not automatic but a product of perseverance and hard work. Indeed, this is a demonstration of the school’s commitment towards excellence in education and contribution to nation building.’’
Rafifing further said that Makhubu was a trendsetter since they have set themselves a target of 99.2% pass rate for this year’s national examinations. He encouraged the students to work hard in order for them to achieve their dreams and advised those who received awards not to relax but persevere.
The communications manager also added that Orapa and Letlhakane mines were honoured to be directly involved in the prize giving ceremony. He revealed that by sponsoring the event they were fulfilling their corporate social responsibility
