Molepolole Magistrate court on Tuesday adjourned Mantshwabisi councilor, Meshack Tshenyego’s threat to kill case to 25th July 2019.
37-year-old-Tshenyego is allegedly facing two counts for threatening to kill Letlhakeng Councilor, Stella Segwagwa and an unnamed Land Board official back in August 2017.
Following a misunderstanding on political issues, the controversial councilor is alleged to have threatened Segwagwa by uttering the words, “Wena Mma-Segwagwa ka fa o ntsayang ka teng, ga o na go fetsa term ya gago ke tlile go go bolaya,” (You Ms Segwagwa the way you treat me, you are not going to complete your council term I am going to kill you)
Issuing another threat the ex-soldier is alleged to have found the Landboard official allocating plots in his ward and started accusing the official of having sabotaging allocation of plots for his voters by offering lame excuses while the landboard allocated plots in other wards which the landboard favoured.
The particulars of offense are that on October 6th, 2017 at Matlagatse ploughing fields, in Kweneng District without any lawful excuse Tshenyego threatened to kill Kabelo Gabanakgosi by uttering the words, “Wena mosimanyana ke wena o tletse masepa ebile o tla nnyela, ga ke tshabe go pantitela motho ebile ga go pale sepe gore ke go bolae gone jaana ke bo ke ipolaya kana ke ya toronkong” loosely translated “You small boy, you are full of nonsense, I am not afraid of being in prison for murder, nothing would stop me from killing you now and killing myself or going to jail.”
His attorney Sesupo Masaka berated prosecution for dragging their feet to bring such old matters before the court and bringing the charge sheet with errors.
The prosecution pleaded with the court to be given a month to amend the charge sheet.
However, Senior Magistrate Nthabiseng Merafe-Tladi ordered that the matter be postponed for arraignment before Chief Magistrate Goabaone Rammapudi next month.
