Gongmaster’s name stolen
Traditional music artist Mponang Ketshabile, popularly known as Gongmaster is racing against time to stop a certain fake artist in South Africa who is staging shows using his name. apparently Snyonfere alerted the former Dikakapa lead singer about a young man making a killing out of his name
“He told me that he saw placards in Pretoria advertising my show. He was surprised to see a young man lipsynching to my CD,” said Gongmaster.
The artist said he is still to meet with BOMU President Alfred Mosimanegape to map the way forward.
Snyonfere told Shaya that recently Gongmaster’s imposter performed in Mafikeng.
“These guys are taking long to take action, they need to go out there and stop this fraud,” fumed Snyonfere.
No change at GICC
Yours Truly got the shock of his last Friday at the Gaborone Fashion Night. Just like me, I arrived just as the show was about to start and ordered my Windhoek lager and handed a P200 note to a courteous waitress. To my shock she came back straight away to tell me that they are running short of change. My beer cost P32 (I will get four in Maruapula) so I expected P168 back (I don’t tip). Hesitantly I offered to buy two drinks upfront, that made it P64 for two!
After waiting for close to five minutes the lady comes back to tell me they still can’t get change. Her excuse; so many people were purchasing with P200 notes….so what?
I stormed out and Jazzelle Kebakile smelt my fury.
