BPF President assured of mp defections
ASPIRING MP: Butale

We expect Five Mps now and 10 after elections – Butale

Botswana Patriot Front (BPF), interim President Biggie Butale said he was expecting five Members of Parliament to join his party after the July 6 launch.

In an interview with The Voice ahead of the Saturday launch in Kanye, which will be graced by former president, Ian Khama, Butale said that the number would increase after elections as they expect 10 MPs from Botswana Democratic Party to cross the floor to the BPF

“We have a strategy to hit the BDP where it hurts the most, which is after elections. Some of the BDP MPs are afraid of being victimized although they too want to see President Mokgweetsi Masisi lose elections so they are just laying low, waiting to defect after elections. It is part of the BPF plot to unseat Masisi and the BDP,” Butale said with confidence.

Going into the Saturday launch, Butale said that he was likely to ascend to party presidency without being challenged.

“I am truly honored by the support that I have been getting from all corners and will work hard to remove the BDP from power,” He said.

Butale however refused to name the Mps who will be joining them saying it was their secret weapon, which won’t be revealed at this stage.

Over 26 BDP councilors have so far defected to the new party with more surprises expected this weekend.
