The three suspended Botswana Democratic Part (BDP) members failed to appear for a disciplinary hearing yesterday in Francistown.
The trio Otsile Moses, Boago Mosarwane and Chidzani Mokwebe from Francistown West constituency were suspended after allegedly assaulting one Otto Masogo during the party’s March congress in Francistown.
They were slapped with a 60 day suspension pending hearing.
The Voice gathered that the trio submitted a letter stating that they could not come for the hearing as they still have an assault case lodged against them at Kutlwano Police.
Looking at the reasons advanced by the suspended trio the committee then resolved to suspend them indefinitely or until their police case is over.
One BDP observer commented that was this akin to life suspension. “The police case can drag on for two years, and these guys will be in the wilderness,” he said.
