“We have started to thoroughly measure our performance against the set objectives. We will be hosting workshops to bring the general membership to speed on the strategy which we should all own and drive with determined passion,” he said.
He said the federation has been highly applauded by Botswana National Sports Council for Clear Strategic drive Commitment to grassroots development and commitment to the empowerment of women in sports among other things.
He said last year Botswana successfully hosted the 2014 World Chess Federation Development Commission Meeting.
Maruatona said it was the first time in the history of chess that the meeting was held in Africa.
