Barclays Bank opened its latest branch to its business and premium customers in Maun last Wednesday.
The branch, located opposite the entrance to Maun airport, was launched to coincide with the start of this year’s peak tourism season.
Speaking at the opening, the bank’s Managing Director, Keabetswe Pheko-Moshagane was quick to highlight its significance.
“This is not just a new office, it marks the beginning of a fresh phase in the development of this region, an expansion of facilities and intensification of efforts to render financial services to the communities in the region,” she explained.
“Similarly Maun is the centre and gateway to our tourism jewels, and is a very important location hence the reason we remain committed to focusing on tourism and uplifting the communities in the area,” continued Moshagane.
The MD further stressed that Barclays, soon to become ABSA bank, is committed to inclusion and diversity as it formulates financial solutions that address the needs of all its customers.
“I am particularly gratified because this event represents a translation into a concrete reality of our strategy to be customer obsessed by listening to our customers concerns and acting on them to provide a conducive environment,” stated Moshagane, adding they opened the business branch in Maun after considering customers’ feedback.
“Our commitment is re-enforced by the opening of this office, to better engage with our customers and stakeholders,” she said.
