Sport Youth and Culture Minister Thapelo Olopeng has urged young athletes to refrain from using performance enhancing substances.
In his keynote address at the official opening of the 4th edition of the Botswana Games at Francistown Sports Complex last night, Olopeng said winning is a good habit but should not be at all costs. “Please do not be tempted to turn to performance enhancing substances which have detrimental effect on your health and sporting career,” he said.
He remained optimistic that the athletes would represent their respective districts with pride and good conduct on and off the field.
The games are expected to end on December 12.
