Great night for My Star last Friday! It’s just amazing that one week contestants can pull off great performances and then the next week flop so bad that one could wonder if they are watching the same contestants. Case in point is Stephanie, who has been lighting the stage with some very nice soulful melodies.
Two weeks ago she performed very badly that she ended in the bottom three. But boy, did she come back with an A-class performance after being saved by the judges last Friday. Ofentse and Tebogo got eliminated last Friday and today three will be kicked out, leaving the competition with just 10 contestants!

The recently released radio and television audience survey puts RB2 presenter, DJ Sly, as the most listened to radio presenter in the country, nationally. It also places RB1 at the top of all radio stations in the same category. However, radio stations audience figures can be read in many ways, depending on where you are standing. For instance, Tumie & Scar’s show on Yarona Fm is the most listened show in Gaborone. RB2 is number two followed by Duma Fm and Gabz Fm is at the tail end. For Gabz Fm to be at the tail end, it may not be a train smash if the station is winning audiences it is targeting and hence gets advertising it desires!

Newly crowned be Mobile Premier League soccer champions, Township Rollers, affectionately known as Mapalastina has something else that other teams do not, a music CD. The 7-track compilation album was produced at Dargie Digital Studios and features heavyweights Banjo Mosele, Gong Master, Slizer, Dr Vom, Topito and Township Rollers Choir. The opening tune Tse Tala by Banjo Mosele features elements of his huge hit Ntsa E Jele Ntsanyana. These are good battle songs for the Mapalastina faithful that can be used to intimidate other fans. The CD gets a 7 out of 10 stars from Monnamogolo. Call DJ Sid at 72842046 to get your CDs reviewed on this page.

This is a CD, I would rather not have reviewed but I have to stop other guys from making the same mistakes. The controversial DJ Onkz has just dropped his second album Underground Session. When I picked it up at Setlhareng.com and was informed that it is selling very well, so I expected to hear something out of this world. The very first track sent chills down my spine. It is a nice house beat, but the problem is he used Jaysean/Lil Wayne’s lyrics on the beat. This alone kills the whole project for him in my view, as there is no sign that these lyrics were used with permission. The rest of the album has that kasi house vibe but not very well produced and mixed. It gets 4 out of 10 stars from Monnamogolo!
