MAN IN TROUBLE: Chatipedza

A Tutume herdman who raped his dumb cousin was granted bail last Friday after he promised court that he will not to interfere with police investigations.
Gontse Chatipedza (24) allegedly raped the girl who is his cousin last week Wednesday at a neighbourhood shebeen at Madikwe ward in Tutume village.
Chatipedza was read the charge of raping his aunt’s daughter but asked not to take a plea since police were still pursuing their investigations which would probably need a sign language interpreter.
“We are still trying to find a sign language professional because the victim can not speak. We however do not have any problem with the accused being granted bail, as long it could be conditional,” Sergeant Paphadzo Kuda said.
Chief Magistrate Kenneth Obeng released the suspected rapist on a P1000 self recognizance bail condition. He warned the accused to avail himself in court every time when needed lest his bail is terminated in default.
He ordered Chatipedza to appear at Masunga Magistrate court, on August19, when the prosecution would be expected to be finished with their investigation.
