Local poet Berry Heart would perform at the annual Storymoja Festival in Kenya.
This is a five day festival where books, writing, storytelling and music are celebrated.
This is done through live discussions, debates and workshops.
It is one of the many festivals in Africa which celebrates African arts, culture and literature.
The festival based in Nairobi was formed by writers in 2008 with the aim to improve contemporary East African writing.
On their website storymojaafrica.co.ke they state that a reading nation is a smarter nation.
To read our own stories helps us understand ourselves and that knowledge empowers.
Hopefully Berry Heart will come back from the festival a better poet and share the experience with young upcoming poets.
