Be Mobile Premier League debutants Sankoyo Bush Bucks have not strengthened their side since gaining promotion from Debswana National First Division to BeMobile Premier League.
The club has been locked in a series of meetings leading to the election of a new committee though an insider told this publication that issues of tribalism were hampering progress.
The Source who is close to the new committee said it would be tough for Sankoyo since the club does not have a sponsor; and with tribalism issue on the fore front, sponsors are likely to shy away.
“They wanted the club to be run and managed by those from Sankoyo Village but the issue was turned down in the past weeks.”
However the club Manager Odirile Sibanda confirmed that indeed they are far behind in their preparations.
He said that the club has short listed four coaches amongst them being the Zambian national Christopher Chibuye who once coached Tasc Football Club in 2007.
“I cannot reveal the people we have shortlisted for the coaching job but I can confirm that Chibuye is one of them.”
Regarding players he said that the club is in need of five experienced players to help them make an impact in their first season in the Premier league. He said that they will also keep their current squad as it is made of youngsters who are willing to learn.
Though he declined to divulge the players they are looking for, Voice Sports has established that Pako Moloi and Kitso “Skizo” Kowa are on the wanted list of the Maun based club.
He also dismissed allegations that they intend to take their home games away to Serowe and Orapa.
“That’s not true we will play our home games in Maun and we plead with supporters to come in large numbers.”
He also pleaded with sponsors to come forward and help them.
Ngurungu as the team is called cannot use its former coach Gadimang Tiiso because he does not have qualifications to coach in the Premier league.
