The name Finale would ring a bell to many Hip hop heads in the country. His first official mixtape ‘I am Finale’ was released in 2012, and his name was forever engraved in the hearts of local music enthusiasts.
Finale (Mbesi Mothudi) went on to release an Extended Play (EP) with 14 tracks titled “Phenomenon” in October 10th 2013 which was accompanied by two music videos and available for digital download via www.datafilehost.com.
Now this year 2014 better than ever, the budding local hip hop artist, Finale has teamed with fellow local artist AbaKhes (Obakeng Phiri) to release a collaboration EP which will be available late this year 2014 and will mark as the 3rd release for Finale and act as an introduction for AbaKhes as an artist.
The EP has been titled “Economic Blueprint” and so far featured artists are DJ Chabo, Spiza, G-Swagg, Septic, J-Traxy and Crae.
More local names may feature on the EP which is still under production.
In an interview with both artists, AbaKhes said the concept of the EP would be different from previous Finale projects.
AbaKhes added that the subject matter on this upcoming EP is different as lyrical ability and competitiveness would be the driving force.
“Whenever we are together in the studio I’m always pushing to record first,” said AbaKhes.
The upcoming artist said this attitude means Finale always has to keep up with the set standards.
“The results for this kind of commitment has been overwhelming for both of us,” he said.
The hip hop duo is currently working on releasing the first single from the EP.
The anticipated song would be accompanied by a music video which would debut on Btv’s Flavour Dome.
