NICO TO SUE DYNAMOS CAPTAIN OVER A P10 000 ‘SIGN ON FEE’

Nico United has threatened to take legal action against Motlakase Power Dynamos captain Tebogo ‘Toy’ Morokaare for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence.

Speaking to Voice Sport this week Majombolo Public Relations Officer Kgakgamatso Moreri said they wrote a letter to Motlakase at the beginning of the season declaring their interest in recruiting the player.

He said they never got a response until they met with Moroka and gave him P10 000 as part of his sign-on fee.

“At first he asked us to give him P35 000 cash fortunately we did not do that as we were still waiting to finalize the deal with his cub,” said Moreri.

The Nico spin doctor further said Moroka told them that he was a free agent.

“After we gave him the money, he disappeared into thin air and ignored our calls.

Now we want our money back as he did not fulfill his promise,” charged Moreri.

In his response Moroka said he did not steal from Nico, but was offered the money by team officials who disregarded the transfer regulations.

He said he told Nico officials that his contract with Chouka Chouka was valid until 2015 who then asked him to resign.
“Besides, they only have a fake document and they should not go around spreading rumours that I stole their money otherwise I will sue them,” said Moroka.

“I’m ready for any action they might take. I have never promised them anything and the document they have has a forged signature.

That is not my hand writing,” Said Moroka.

Motlakase Chairman Grembo Kealotswe confirmed that the club received a letter from Nico seeking permission to recruit Moroka.

He said they responded and clearly stated on the letter that his contract was still valid.
“I know nothing about their case because they did not involve me from the beginning. It is Moroka’s problem to deal with.

We won’t pay that money,” Kealotswe said as a matter of fact.

“They wanted to snatch our player behind our back, so they should face the consequences. I hope they have learnt their lesson,” he said.
