The Voice readers who participate in our weekly presidential poll have continued to demonstrate trust in the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) President Duma Boko as the preferred leader for the country.
In this week’s results Boko maintains the lead with 55% of the popular vote. Botswana Congress Party (BCP) President Dumelang Saleshando was also unmoved in 2nd position.
Saleshando has proved to be more popular than both the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and President Ian Khama. He scored 24% of the popular vote while Khama maintained the 3rd spot with 16%.
The remaining 5% were spoiled votes.
In overall constituencies UDC lost 2% of its popular vote this week by garnering at least 56% against last week’s 59%.
The orange movement however remained the preferred party of choice by voters. Meanwhile the second favourite party, BCP increased its popularity by a margin of 1% this week as 33% of the voters indicated that they preferred BCP to any other party.
BDP also increased its popularity by a margin of 2% from last week’s 6% of the popular vote to the current 8%.Only 3% of the votes were spoiled.
For parliamentary results UDC Parliamentary candidate for Mochudi East proved to be more popular than his counterparts. Isaac Davids scored 63% of the popular votes.
His namesake at BCP Isaac Mabiletsa became second with only 27% of the votes. BDP represented by Reverend Mpho Moruakgomo was only blessed with 10% of the popular vote.
