…As Chiefs triumphs in Palapye

Gu-and-RollersROLLERS 0-0 GU

The Gaborone derby played away in Molepolole on Wednesday night ended in a stalemate.

The 0-0 draw ensured that Rollers remained at the top of the league with 50 points, two ahead of second placed BDF XI.

Gaborone United has dropped to the fourth spot with 47 points.

Although both sides created numerous chances, strikers found Mwapole Masule and Noah Maposa in an uncompromising mood as the two goal keepers dealt with everything thrown at them.

United who had their new coach Rahman Gumbo on the technical area were the better side, but were let down by poor finishing.

Meanwhile Mochudi Center Chiefs defeated Motlakase Power Dynamos 1-0 earlier during the day to get back into league contention.

Chiefs victory saw them frog-leaping GU to occupy third spot on a superior goal difference.

Since the arrival of Mike Sithole the Kgtleng giants have found their footing once again.

The fixture which was cancelled a fortnight ago due to a waterlogged pitch attracted multitudes.

Rollers and GU supporters came in large numbers perhaps to give Dynamos morale support.

It did not take long for Magosi to break the deadlock through Lemponye Tshireletso on the 23rd minute.

Speaking to Voice Sport after the game Magosi mentor Mike Sithole said he was impressed by the performance of the boys despite the state of the ground.

“This is my second game since I joined Chiefs and I have won them all.” said Sithole

Chouka Chouka Coach Pule Mogotsi said Chiefs capitalized on their silly defensive errors.

“We have lost three consecutive games but I still believe in my players. It is all about the confidence, we are a good team,” said Mogotsi.
