A 30 year old Engineer at Water Affairs in Maun will appear before Maun Magistrate Court after hitting a 27 year old woman of Chobe ward with a car last week.

Maun Police Acting Station Commander Assistant Superintendant Zhabi Hulela told The Voice that the man from Thito ward was driving when he saw the victim walking along the road and stopped his car with suspicion that she was hitch hiking.

While reversing to meet her halfway he lost control of the car and hit the woman.

Hulela said the accused will be charged with drunken driving as he had failed an alcohol breath test.

The victim was taken to Letsholathebe where she was hospitalized for one night before she was released.
