TAFIC IN THE MUD
Relegation candidates Tafic Football Club will this weekend lock horns with their city rivals Ecco City in Francistown.
Both teams are in the relegation zone and it is very important for them to get the maximum points.
Machimenyenga are sitting at the bottom of the log with 18 points while Mamoja Diskie are on position nine with 26 points. First round of the season Ecco defeated Tafic 1-0.
All eyes will be on Ghanaian striker Ishmael Aponsah who has so far played three games for Ecco so far and has scored in all of them.
Speaking to Voice Sport this weekend Mamoja Diskie mentor Atshele Molapi said a match against Tafic is always a headache.
“The return of Malepa Bolelang from Motlakase has brought back life to the team and his combination with Aponsah has been working well for us,” said Molapi.
The Ecco mentor further told Voice Sport that Bolelang’s departure left a gap in his team which they struggled to fill.
“We need his experience and guidance.
We need to do something about our position that is not where we belong.
We want to finish this season on top 8,” said Molapi.
Meanwhile Machimenyenga mentor Darlington Dodo said this is a crucial stage where players should know what do deliver on the ground.
He said a win in their past game against Satmos has boosted the boys’ morale and they are looking forward to surprise Ecco.
“Ecco has a strong defense but it is not a problem for us, we will find a way to penetrate them,” said Dodo.
He further said although their training was affected by the torrential rain, his boys are in a good shape and ready to light up Francistown Stadium.
