Zurich Botswana, an Insurance broker that has been operating in the country for more than three decades says its success is measured in provision of good and reliable customer service.
Speaking during a customer day meant to meet and engage stakeholders at Marang Hotel last week, their Chief Executive Officer, Bilkiss Moorad revealed that Zurich was founded in 1977 as Eagle insurance.
She said the company currently offers short term insurance products and services that respond to the needs of individual, commercial and corporate customers.
Moorad said Zurich has a long history with Botswana and that it employs 99 percent of local staff with only one foreigner who is from the Zimbabwe.
She said her company also engage University of Botswana graduates on attachment to arm them with practical skills and that they are always free to leave or stay after working with them.
The CEO revealed that Zurich was a reliable business which is reputed for timely payments by its customers.
Moorad said Francistown was good for business especially due to the booming mining industry in the northern region.
Also present at the customer day, was the company CEO from South Africa, Edwyn O’Neill who revealed that event was meant to give feedback to clients and also share with the stakeholders regarding future of the region with Zurich Insurance.
He said while business was good in Botswana, the company was currently having challenges like shortage of skill in marketing which calls for need for awareness and training for staff.
He also revealed that the company was facing a serious problem of repairing costs on vehicles leading to increased premium on motor vehicles insurance.
