Compliments of the New Season! 2013 was an eventful year when it comes to entertainment and to all nightlife lovers.
Internationally recognized musicians such as Brandy and Joe Thomas graced the local stages much to the delight of music lovers in the country.
And 2014 promises to be even better. Promoters and entertainment joints are likely to be abuzz with more entertainment.
For a long time, Kwasa-kwasa guru Frank Lesokwane and Thapelo Maleka have been performing at joint shows.
Franco, as Lesokwane is popularly known in the entertainment industry, has identified MC Maswe (Maleka) as his partner in music.
During the just finished festive season, the two toured the breath and length of this diamond rich nation of Botswana dishing out the best music ever.
To add a cherry on the bite, MC Maswe took a golden opportunity to pray for the country of Botswana through his latest gospel album titled Legodimo.
Approached for a comment, Franco said MC Maswe is his longtime partner in the music industry and nothing is about to change.
A lot happened at the Francistown’s ultimate entertainment centre, Lizard Entertainment in the past year and the year 2014 is not an exception, according to the owner of the joint.
Sam Molefe told Grooving in the Ghetto that night crawlers in the country’s second largest city and the surrounding villages should brace for a year filled with funny and entertainment.
Having brought Generations’ MJ (Anga Makubalo) popularly known as Naak Musiq to Francistown and other top artists from down South, Lizard Entertainment also managed to lure some of the best artistes from Gaborone to come and perform at the pub a development that brought some life in Francistown.
Without mentioning names, Molefe promised to bring top artistes from both the local music industry and South Africa in order to offer the best to his Francistown patrons.
While other artistes are still finding it hard to come up with gigs and shows bearing in mind that almost everyone is broke thanks to the festive season, MC Maswe is starting the year on a high note.
Information reaching Grooving in the Ghetto is that Maswe has signed on the dotted line with the owner of Motswedi Bar to perform every Sunday afternoon from 4pm until late.
Starting a day after tomorrow, MC Maswe and both the Beauty Queens and Beauty Angels will be dazzling the liquor outlet with both secular and gospel music.
“The contract runs until year end with an option of being renewed,” confirmed the Ramotswa-born musician.
So people of Block I, Somerset West and East as well as Kgaphamadi and Maipaafela have got an opportunity to watch MC Maswe and the Beauty Angels in action while drowning their sorrows down.
