More and more local artists are targeting the huge market of Channel O and MTV Base.
Lecco Kenosi of “Soccer baller” fame is on a spirited mission to take the popular song which features dribbling wizard Pontsho Moloi to the wider audience.
Lecco is shooting a video for the song’s remix which will be available online.
“It is a new song altogether but with similar lyrics,” he told Big Weekend.
He is also shooting a video for another popular song from the album “Peri-peri” called “Wa nhlanyisa” featuring Mapetla also earmarked to debut on Channel O and Mtv Base.
Meanwhile the Kwaito artist has planned a big launch for his album Peri-peri and invited for are Arthur Mafokate and Chomee.

Thanks to Dj Tucazz of TYS Fm, his music is now common in Namibia’s club life. A couple of Namibian Djs will grace the local boy and girlfriend Onny’s joint birthday bash this Friday at Calabash Night Club.

At first glance Tsiki’s Stilleto album does trigger any excitement.
The sleeve is just too busy and one cannot tell which one is the title album between ‘Stilleto’ and ‘Tsiki’.
But having made the mistake of dismissing an album because of its poor sleeve before, I threw this into the player.
Well I might admit that the album is a mix bag. Tsiki comes across as a person who is still experimenting with a couple of genres.
Like a lot of local artists his talent is unmistakable and with a bit of help Tsiki could be a household name in the near future. The album gets 6 out of 10.
Gospel artist David Grace’s album Magnify is among the best in the country.
The quality is just amazing and it no surprise that the launch will be even a bigger event.
The album will be launched this Friday at Majestic Five Hotel in Palapye.
The big event will see popular Solly Mahlangu of “Obrigado” opening the stage for Grace.
Now known for his energetic performance s Mahlangu is expected to raise the stakes before Grace steps on to the stage for his act.
IT’S ABOUT TIME
News that some of our local jazz musos will tour Europe where they will showcase Botswana’s talent is heartwarming.
There has never been any doubt about the abundance of talent in the country, sadly though local acts have never been given a platform to show the international community what they are capable of.
The collaboration of Celtic fusion with the likes of Nnunu Ramogotsi, Kabo Lebur and Kearoma Rantao could be a sign of exciting times ahead. I can’t wait for the release of the album ‘Tales from Botswana.’
