Botswana Primary Schools Sports Association national under 13 teams are in a two week camp preparing for COSSASA games to be held in Lesotho in this August.
Football, volleyball and netball teams were selected recently at BOPSSA national sports competitions which were held in Lobatse. About 90 athletes are on training camp at Artesia School of Excellence.
Speaking to Voice Sport BOPSSA Publicity Secretary Lawrence Moseki said competitions grow every year as they now have new faces in their national teams.
“We are going to have the final camp before departure and I hope coaches will have enough time to prepare for the tournament. Last year boys’ volleyball team brought gold and this time we want all codes to bring medals,” said Moseki.
Moseki said they want to work with BFA in football development structures with the aim of tapping into their resources.
He said they want BFA to help them with the training of BOPSSA coaches and involve them in programmes like Re Ba Bona Ha.
“We had a meeting recently with BFA and we hope soon we will reach an agreement. It is not only football; we want to sell the idea to other sports codes,” he added.
