Botswana Building Society (BBS) has finally rolled out the Mobile and Internet Banking facility early this month.
BBS’ latest service dubbed ‘Nomad banking’ is expected to accord the financial institution’s clientele the pleasure to transact without setting a foot in the banking hall.
This is part of the bank’s drive to find fresh ways of improving its products and services.
“Not only to retain existing ones but also to attract new ones,” elaborated the BBS Board Secretary and Head of Communications and Marketing Sipho Showa.
“Nomad banking is a result of innovative approach to managing the business of BBS,” he said.
Showa confirmed that the introduction of Mobile and Internet Banking was part of the process of laying the foundation for the commercialization of the country’s sole building society.
Showa said, “BBS is still on the path of demutualising. The addition of electronic banking services is an indication of BBS intention of being a leading financial service provider.
Through this new service BBS clients are able to view the history of all activities in their accounts through the internet and mobile banking facility.
Clients will be receiving instant messages on all activities in their accounts and airtime top up.”
