PPC Botswana and Spar, Botswana retail chain, this week announced their forged strategic alliance which will see PPC’s customers being rewarded for brand loyalty through the Spar loyalty programme, nationwide.
Anyone who buys 25 bags of BOTCEM or 20 bags of SUREBUILD or one ton of PPC cement stands a chance to win P2, 500.00 worth of groceries every month for a year and a grand Prize of P100, 000 cash.
The promotion kicked off on the 1st of July 2013 and will end on the 30th of September 2013.
“This partnership is a way of giving back and shows our appreciation to our customers, who drive our commitment to quality products.
PPC continues to play a critical role in Botswana’s development through the construction industry because we are driven by their commitment to quality assurance.
Our Botswana customers have remained loyal to PPC for the last 17 years.
We are proud to associate our brand with that of Spar, a strong and reliable brand in the market which could ensure we deliver well on this initiative,” says Werner De Beer, General Manager PPC Botswana.
The promotion is a first of this kind and nature for PPC Botswana, mostly known for its signature industry-wide PPC Number 1 Builder Competition which rewards outstanding projects in the construction industry.
Commenting on the partnership Bobby Rushforth, Head of Marketing Tsetseng retail Group SPAR says he is pleased with the partnership.
“When two strong brands come together clients are always the winners. PPC and Spar bring good quality products which are designed for their delight. Life’s great because there is strength beyond the bag.”
Last year the Minister of Infrastructure, Jonnie Swartz, endorsed PPC’s approach to development of the construction industry by calling it ‘more than just a cement company’.
PPC Cement was established in 1882 as De Eerste Cement Fabrieken Beperkt, and began operating in Botswana in 1996.
Their cement has formed part of the construction of major landmarks such as the new Ministry of Health, Diamond Technology Centre, Game City and Riverwalk malls.
The Number 1 Builder competition began in 2010 in an effort to promote excellence in the construction industry, demonstrate good corporate citizenry and to demonstrate the versatility of their cement.
