- WOMAN, 20 SURVIVES COP PSYCHO ATTACK
- OFFICER ARRESTED, CHARGED AND DETAINED
Pontsho Oats, 20 was battered, beaten and bruised while handcuffed to a bed for four days.
Like a frightened animal Oats watched as her angry and psychotic lover sharpened a knife which he threatened to slaughter her with several times each day.
But that was to be after he had cut her body parts into pieces the crazed constable said as he brandished a chain saw in front of the helpless and terrified unemployed young woman.
Early this week Oats spoke for the first time about the day that will haunt her for the rest of her life.
The Lucky to be alive Oats who was lured to her 30- -year- old cop boyfriend’s house in Middlepits told of how she was nearly killed by torture for suspicions that she was cheating.
Narrating her ordeal from Tsabong Primary Hospital where she was treated for bruises and injures, Oats said Mothusi Nkoni, 30 had tied her to the bed and put a masking tape across her mouth.
He then started hitting her for several minutes at a go every day at intervals.
“After some time of serious assault he would bring a small tub with iced water and dipped my feet in it for at least 30minutes at a time.’
When she passed out on the fourth day Nkosi released her from the handcuffs and left the house.
“When I came to I rang my ex- boyfriend Itumeleng Ositang from my mobile phone and informed him that I was in danger.
Taking over the story Ositang, 30 said . “I received a call from Oats that she was locked inside some room with no food and water. I phoned her family to let them know that she was in danger.”
Meanwhile Oats found some strength to escape through the window and ran to Ositang’s house. “She was very weak with bruises all over the body when she arrived at my house,” he said.
The following day the policeman apparently suspected that the woman might have been assisted to escape by Ositang and went to attack him.
“He ran after me with an Okapi knife and missed me three times,” said Ositang.
Confirming the dramatic incident, Middlepits Station Commander Superintendent Moses Chibamo said it was shameful that one his officers hd behaved in an indisciplined and embarrassing manner.
“We arrested one of our officers on Monday and charged him with threat to kill . We will know more about torture and kidnapping once the victim has been released from the hospital.” Said the police boss.
At the time of going to press Nkosi had been referred to Sabrana mental hospital in Lobatse for examination of his state of mind.
