Mascom Wireless, a mobile phone network company has donated computers and photocopying machines to Selebi-Phikwe and Tobane Primary Schools.
Tobane Crime Prevention Cluster also benefited from Mascom’s social corporate responsibility programme.
Speaking at the handing over of the equipment, Mascom Communications and Public Relations Officer Barbara Tshipana, said: “We want to improve student computer knowledge at a tender age.
The young boys and girls will be able to know what is happening around the world.
ICT capability is an essential skill for life and enables learners to participate more readily in a rapidly changing world.
Children reach higher levels when technology is made part of their lessons.”
Selebi-Phikwe Primary School Head of Department Carol Makarapa thanked Mascom for the donation.
Commending the mobile network providers for their contribution towards the development of this country Makarapa noted that computers will help to uplift the school’s academic performance.
The School also received P5 000 to help in preparations for the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) victory party.
