MOSAKO TO HEADLINE MISS WINGATE FINALS
Popular Motswako artist, Lee Rakobe aka Mosako will headline the inaugural Miss Wingate beauty pageant to be held at the Francistown Civic Centre tomorrow (Saturday) night.
The beauty pageant will start at 7pm sharp. Mosako, will perform alongside emerging hip hop musician Slipper (Tshepo Timothy).
On the ones and twos, DJ Chen (Arnold Chengeta) will be doing what he knows the best throughout the beauty pageant show.
In between, the crowd will have an opportunity to witness the beauty that the northern part of the country has, as the girls will be walking down the ramp. Only P60 gets you in.
DJ BUNZ IS THE BEST IN THE NORTH
Seasoned Francistown based Disc Jockey, DJ BUNZ proved to all and sundry recently that he is the best in the northern part of the country.
Despite being disabled, the one-handed DJ won the berth to show his exploits at the President’s Day Competitions finals in Gaborone mid next month.
DJ BUNZ real names Peter Gaseitsiwe garnered 96.6% and sent almost a total of other eleven disc jockeys tumbling by the wayside at a regional competition held in Francistown over the past weekend. “It was a tough battle.
But experience helped me to go through,” he said.
He said he will do everything within his power to ensure that he represents Francistown well and win the competition at national level.
Other DJs were drawn from Serowe, Maun, Kasane, Selibe-Phikwe and Palapye.
DJ COLASTRAW IN ONE-MAN SHOW
In a development that will be first of its kind, DJ Colastraw will entertain fans at the popular Lizard Entertainment in Francistown single handedly
Born Bonno Ngaka, Colastraw will perform at the increasingly popular hangout joint in Francistown tonight (Friday) without any supporting act.
Colastraw, who once had a stint in the neighboring South Africa, is expected to show his mettle when it comes to vinyl spinning.
The Francistown-born lad promised to take the crowd to another level all alone in an area where he started his disc jockeying career more than a decade ago.
Still at Lizard Entertainment, Hip Hop and Rhythms & Blues (R&B) music lovers will be in for a treat on Saturday night in a show dubbed DJ K.U.D.A versus DJ Da Drat gig of the year.
Each show costs P20.
DAY OF AFRICAN CHILD COMMEMORATIONS HERE
All is set for the commemoration of the Day of the African Child.
The annual event will be commemorated today (Friday) at the Francistown stadium in the country’s second largest city and nationwide.
This year’s event will be held under the theme: ‘Eliminating harmful social and cultural practices affecting children, our collective responsibility.’
Members of the public and civic leaders from Francistown are expected to grace the event.
Last Saturday, auditions for the Miss Day of the African Child were held at the civic centre and the winner is expected to be selected tonight.
