Local multimedia production house Virginbrew Media has announced a unique collaboration with radio personality Jazzelle Kebakile, set to be launched on RB2 in June this year.
The production is the result of a three year experiment in which the radio show’s concept was developed and produced.
The Essentials’ pilot episode is due to air for the very first time on national broadcaster RB2 on Saturday 1st June 2013 at 12noon for an hour, where the producers have promised audiences a new sound experience.
The show identifies the young to seasoned professional as its target audience with featured topics ranging from current affairs discussions with local journalists, local and regional tourism promotion, engaging children as guests on the show, profiling local sports personalities, and celebrating development in the local creative industry amongst others.
The show marks Jazzelle Kebakile’s return to the airwaves after a three year hiatus having last been heard on Gabz fm’s former morning show The Gabz fm Sunrise.
“I am looking forward to sharing the magic that we’ve weaved into this radio show with Batswana,” says Jazzelle, “ I’ve taken everything I’ve learnt over 14 years as a professional voice artist and lovingly applied it to this production, so, my wonderful community of faithful listeners over the years really have something different to look forward to.”
Virginbrew Media directors, Leroy Monaheng and Kagiso Serema explained that RB2 was identified as the ideal platform to air this radio show because of its extensive national reach of the radio audience.
“Producing this radio show as a pre recorded programme allows for refreshing avenues to audience participation in the show, and effective message delivery which is great news for companies spending money to communicate with their customers through the medium of radio,” commented Monaheng.
“So, along with listeners getting to enjoy hearing their own voices on the show in various ways, companies will get to participate in final production of their brand promotional shows before the audience receives it.”
The producers also announced that the show will be a launching pad for new radio voices in the form of an as yet unnamed corporate professional and others yet to be identified.
“We’ve been working closely with a few people to prepare them for their new roles as voices on a national radio show and we can’t wait to reveal their identities and share their beautiful voices with the RB2 audience,” Serema.
