As part of the Barclays Learning and Development programme, Barclays Bank of Botswana (BBB) recently hosted its second Learning Expo.
The expo was one of the two expos that will be held this year, aimed at encouraging growth and diversity of careers among the Barclays staff.
Through this programme, Barclays Bank offers a 0–100% reimbursement to staff on their study loans, in order for them to pursue their different educational aspirations.
The Learning Expo is an event organised annually by the Barclays Learning and Development Department, which invests in the training and development of the colleagues at Barclays.
The Expo offers colleagues the opportunity to explore educational opportunities, which can in turn drive their career growth and opportunity.
The day was packed with a bevy of activities and exhibitors, who came to showcase their institutions and their various offerings.
Some of the exhibitors included the University of Botswana, Botho College, Botswana Accountancy College, and Books Botswana as well as primary schools such as Legae Primary School and Phakalane Primary School who also exhibited.
Over 20 exhibitors were present at the expo to share their offerings with the Barclays colleagues and their families.
Speaking at the event, Acting head of Corporate Affairs, Grace Mosinyi, explained that the Barclays Learning Expo complements the Barclays values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship.
“This year the Expo focused particularly on Stewardship, through which the Bank aims to leave its communities better than it found them. The Bank aspires to discover and groom talent, to empower leadership and give its colleagues the eternal gift of education and knowledge,” she asserted.
