FORMER GIRLFRIEND ACCUSES KWASA KWASA STAR OF BEATING
Bloody, bruised and beaten, a former girlfriend to Chris Manto 7 has claimed the kwasa kwasa star attacked her following a row she had with his current partner.
The Maun based popular musician, real name Baitshepi Mwachisenge (30) from Shakawe could face a prison sentence if charged with the savage attack that took place on Wednesday night at Asome bar in Maun.
Former girlfriend Bonolo Mothibi who had a short affair with the artist, claimed he failed to control himself after she told his current girlfriend and fiancée about their relationship.
Tshepang Ketshabetswe (30) however tells a different story.
The mother to one of the star’s two children and soon to be wife said Mothibi had been talking ‘rubbish’ about his life.
Speaking to The Voice she said that when she reported for work at the Asome complex where she works as a Manager for both the bar and Fresh Exclusive Club, she found Mothibi surrounded by her juniors.
She said that together with her fiancée they did not leave the car as they could sense that Mothibi was up to something.
“We opened our car window and we could clearly hear her talking of how Manto 7 is useless and supporting someone’s baby.”
Ketshabetswe said that her man tried to leave the car but she managed to restrain him.
She stated that Mothibi went on and on talking about how Mwachisenge could not manage to marry her as he is always broke and wondered how someone who failed in music could talk of marriage.
She said that the row took a turn for the worse when Mothibi later returned to the bar and shouted at the top of her voice that Junior (their first born son) is not Manto 7’s child.
“When I asked her why she was insulting me, she looked shocked and that is when my fiancée came rushing in and gave her a hot powerful slap across the face which sent her to the floor.”
She added that while still in the ‘dizziness’ of the hot slap, Mothibi tried to run away but hit a nearby pole, which caused injuries to her right eye and head.
She said Mwachisenge tried to run after her but fell into a ditch.
“I asked him to leave her as we could see that she was injured, and she went away in a taxi while still bleeding.”
The Letlhakane born woman said that Mothibi started to give her problems after learning that she was planning to wed very soon.
She said that Mothibi had previously come and confessed, saying she had slept with her man sometime last year when the couple’s relationship was in difficulty.
“I told her that it was not wrong because I was not there at that time.
I suspect that she was disappointed by my reaction and had thought that I would be mad at my man.”
For her part Mothibi explained that the reason she confessed to the relationship was not to disrupt the wedding but build a relationship with Ketshabetswe.
Manto 7 who doubles as a DJ by the name DJ 7 confirmed beating Mothibi but distanced himself from the extent of the injuries.
The recording artist who some have labelled ‘a one hit wonder’ after the success of Zwaka Pressa back in 2006, has also been reported to have political ambitions as a BDP supporter.
In an interview with The Voice last year he admitted to being ‘friendly’ with Khama when working for the then vice president at the Serowe Development Trust.
Maun Police Acting Station Commander Assistant Superitandant Oarabile Zhabi Hulela confirmed they are investigating a case in which a 30-year-old man is accused of assault causing bodily harm.
He could not say more as investigations are still ongoing.
