I have to be upfront and let the reader know that I did not understand a single word on this album, Casper sings in Zulu.
The one thing that caught my attention though was the artist’s voice; it sounded familiar.
For a second I thought I was listening to Blondie Makhene of Blondie and Papa fame and founder of the group Pure Gold.
If this is not auto tune’ then he has got a great or ‘golden’ voice.
Casper’s six track debut album titled Golden voice, is perhaps a stand alone.
Sang entirely in Zulu the former member of Hosana group has perhaps brought something new and fresh.
Though I could not understand a single word the album counts among the best I have listened to this year.
My favourite songs are “Uphondo lwam” and “Dzakayenda”. Other songs include Ngiyamaz ubaba, Ngqunqulu, Sthandwa and Phez kwelitshe.
The album gets 8 out of 10.
