NAGAFELA’S DAUGHTER TAKES ON PELOETLETSE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
BOTSWANA Democratic party(BDP)national publicity committee member, MacDonald Peloetletse became the target of angry facebookers on Tuesday evening for allegedly spreading false propaganda about Letlhakeng West BNF candidate’s daughter on a private radio station.
Peloetletse came under heavy fire for announcing on air that the BDP had welcomed to its fold a daughter of the BNF’s parliamentary candidate for the fi rcely contested Letlhakeng west constituency
Filbert Nagafela. Peloetletse who claimed president Ian Khama himself welcomed Nagafela’s daughter to the ruling party at a weekend rally found himself pitted against the alleged daughter, Segofalang Nagafela in a no holds barred war of words on social media.
Seething with anger Segofalang branded Mac- Donald a ‘liar’ who is going out of his way to use Nagafela’s children for his ‘dirty’ campaign.
On her Facebook wall, the aggrieved woman said that all what Peloetletse was trying to do was to ruin Nagafela’s children’s careers by implying that they were flouting the public service act by actively taking part in politics while in office.
“Apparently a certain man called MacDonald Peloetletse just told Duma Fm that they officially welcomed Nagafela’s daughter to their party this week. Sir!! Stop lying about me and use right channels of politics.
Are you so desperate such that you can’t sell your candidate instead you tell people lies. Talk about your party policies and stop lying about a daughter as old as you are.
I am a public officer, so watch what you say about us in the media. Shame on you,” read the woman’ status.
She went on to say that Peloetletse’s claims was a sign that the BDP was desperate and unqualified to lead.
She wondered why Peloetletse had gone out to use Nagafela’s children to fi ght political wars. Peloetletse however didn’t take the attacks lying down.
“Nagafela has a lot of children so you are not the only one.
BDP welcomed another one. Segofalang Nagafela your language is just too rude and disrespectful,” he shot back in response to the scathing attack which had already gone viral on Facebook.
The BDP man however went silent as face book fans started attacking him and labeling him an unworthy leader.
BDP secretary general, Mpho Balopi has in the past warned BDP members to desist from eing caught in face book squabbles.
Meanwhile BDP is on the run to retain the Letlhakeng West constituency which fell vacant after the death of former Member of Parliament, Maxwell Motowane.
BDP’s Ngaka Ngaka will on the 6th of April battle BNF’s Filbert Nagafela for a seat in parliament.
