New-eraThursday March 7th 2013 witnessed the very first Career Day held at the Gaborone campus of New Era College at Block 8.

Personal development Guru’s, HR Practitioners, Image Consultants, Entrepreneurial and Industry specialists imparted knowledge, practical and interactive sessions to the Diploma and Advanced Diploma students of the Engineering and Hospitality faculties New Era College Career Office (NECCO) is an extension of the Student Services that New Era College of Arts, Science and Technology have initiated.

NECCO’s positioning is from student to professional.

With activities that will be conducted every quarter NECCO will organise specialists from various industries to develop students to work ready professionals when they finish their advanced diploma level.

The speakers at the event included Oaitse Joseph Mathiba from Personal Management Academy, Shameela Winston and Wame Makoko from Olivetree Consultants who spoke about ethics at the workplace.

Kefilwe Ratadi of FNB spoke on managing personal finances while Martin Dube of Baboneng films showcased an audio visual presentation on Entrepreneurship, Recycling and Retrofitting.

Motsakgotla Buti Kowa of UB gave an insight on the construction industry amidst recession, and Maya Ramkumar Nair of Harvey Travels spoke on ticketing and IATA as a career option, Other presenters were Kay Didimalang and Khurshida Khan who spoke about positive attitude in life.
