For enthusiastic over 21 young adults who could not register online for the reality Tv show Big Brother, this Friday and Saturday would be your last days to try your luck.
The open auditions will take place at Cresta President Hotel in Gaborone at 900hrs. The open auditions allow individuals that were unable to enter before entries closed one last chance to impress the selection team.
All you are required to do isfill in the entry form which is currently available at your nearest Multi Choice office then make your way to the audition venue where a production team member will assist you.
Aspirants should be fluent in English, entertaining, open-minded, adventurous, bold and passionate about the Big Brother experience. The last housemate standing will walk away with USD 300 000.
SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR COMES TO PALAPYE
South African Grammy award winning group, Soweto Gospel Choir is expected to perform in Palapye on the 28th of June 2013 at Palapye International Convention Centre.
The choir comes at the invitation of St Anthony Community choir which is part of the Catholic Church.
This will be their first performance in Botswana.
It was formed in November 2002 and 2003 the choir won its first award, a Helpmann Award, Australia’s prestigious Performing Arts Award, for “Best Contemporary Music Concert”.
On 11 February 2007, SGC received its greatest accolade, a Grammy Award for their second CD “Blessed”, in the category “Best Traditional World Music”.
SGC has collaborated with international artists like U2 and R Kelly and last year they performed with the world’s number one classical artist André Rieu at the Coca cola dome in South Africa.
BDF band orchestra and St Anthony community choir will also perform at the show.
St Anthony will also use the occasion to launch their debut album. Tickets for the concert sell for P400 and will be on sale by the end of March 2013.
His has been coming to Botswana quite often recently, and was at one point a guest judge on the popular Mystar show.
The Zimbabwean born choreographer-come-vocalist has also collaborated with Botswana’s hottest rap artist Zeus.
The two’s song titled ‘That Good life’ is expected to drop very soon.
THAI would be the star attraction at this year’s Miss Botho Colllege Beauty Pageant on the 29th of March 2013.
The artist is also in the process of hitting the hot spots in countries such as Tanzania, Malawi, Kenya and Zimbabwe and is one of the artists to look out for this year as he is bringing a unique taste to the music industry with his rare talent of collaborating dance and singing at the same time.
This coming Easter holidays in Maun will be fun filled this year as the public gets to watch live horses racing including musical entertainment and draws for various prizes.
The Derby attracts tourists from around Botswana and Namibia to Maun, and this in turn has a positive impact on the economy.
The Mascom National Derby is back on its 8th year. The event will be at Shashe Racing Track on the 30th March.
The race has 2 categories of horses these are Tswana breed and Thoroughbreds.
The popular show brings in participants from Namibia, and from Botswana we have participants from Sehithwa, Ghanzi, Charles Hill, Maun, Gumare and Palapye.
Mascom has invested over 3 million Pula into the Derby, which is billed to feature around 100 horses.
The event is open to the public for P30 adults and P15 for children under 12.
The field is fenced to protect both horses and spectators with 50 Security guards, 30 Police and 10 Bouncers.
