Deputy Paramount Chief of the Batawana, Pitsoyabosigo Moremi has died.
Moremi 60, plunged the tourist village of Maun in deep sorrow when he passed away on Wednesday night on his bed at home.
The chief’s colleagues at the Batawana main Kgotla told The Voice newspaper that on the day before his passing, kgosi Moremi had worked hard like he would have done on any other normal day.
“He knocked off at 5pm like he usually did. We were shocked to learn that he passed away on his bed. He was not sick or ill,” said a devastated colleague.
Batawana Paramount Chief and Member of Parliament for Maun West, Tawana Moremi confirmed the loss although he could not disclose any details because he was in Parliament at the time.
The late Moremi was appointed Deputy chief in 2010 after the death of his father Mathiba Moremi. At the time of going to press funeral arrangements had not been finalised.
