TSHWARAGANO CJSS STUDENT STABS ANOTHER WHILE COOK HIT WITH A TOD
Tshwaragano CJSS in Maun was turned into a battle ground when two boys faced off in a fight that landed the older boy in hospital on Wednesday.
The younger boy had apparently been bullied several times before he finally carried a knife to school which he used to stab his rival below the breast during the fight.
Acro Maseko, the Regional Director for North West District in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development confirmed to this publication that indeed a 14 -year -old and an18- year-old boy were being investigated by the school management for fighting.
“We are not letting the issue go because for some reason it was not reported to police when it should have been but we will carry out our investigations and necessary action will then be taken,” said Maseko who further noted that the stabbed student was treated at Maun General Clinic before he was referred to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital where he was admitted for a couple of hours and discharged.
Meanwhile in a different but related issue, a chief cook at the same school was beaten by another student who refused to take instructions from the cook at the kitchen.
According to Maseko the boy was harassing other students on Sunday during athletics before he hit the cook with an iron rod following a brief argument.
“He fetched water from the cooking pot and when the cook told him to stop it he insulted and hit her with an iron rod.I suspect that he was high on something considering the insults that he hurled at an elder.”
Maseko however said the school was working hard to root out bad elements among the students to make it a safer environment for learning.
