BOTSWANA’S fourth largest insurance company Mutual and Federal officially opened its Francistown office this Wednesday.
The financial services company which boasts of policyholders in the excess of 300 000 increased its footprint in the country due to the expected business boom particularly in the mineral sector.
“We made a decision to open the Francistown office last year, after realizing that 20 per cent of our business in Botswana is from the northern region.
It therefore made business sense that we bring our services closer to our clients”, said Jack Bekker, Managing Director of Mutual and Federal Botswana.
“The company’s expansion in Francistown is influenced by among other factors the positive growth seen in the region over the past years especially in tourism, agriculture and mining. We are upbeat about our growth.
The Francistown office will operate autonomously from the Gaborone office and will have the resources to provide claims and underwriting services independently.
This will greatly improve our service turnaround times and ensure that our customers have easy access to our insurance specialists”, explained the company’s Executive for Africa and New Markets, LeRoy Munetsi.
Mutual and Federal which has 182 years of experience in short term insurance is a member of the Old Mutual Group that operates through its wide network of branches in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
It’s also acclaimed for its excellent service and for protecting what’s important to its customers.
