After a successful event in Mahalapye on 24 December last year; the Monate Fela crew is back in 2013 with an appreciation party scheduled for 1st February at Bull n Bush.

The show will see a special performance by Naak Music aka MJ from the popular South African soapie Generations.

The gentleman who has become a hit with the ladies since joining the award winning African soap would be signing autographs and doing meet and  greet.

Viewed as one of the most fine looking men in SA, Mj is popular for hits such as Qina featuring Sbu and Reach the Sky with Eltonic.

Other entertainers on the night will include Ink (Kellz and T-Izzy), Ricky Lamar, Scratch and Kuchi. P50 gets you in.

FACE IT ON THE CARDS

The producer of Trip to Maun, Kelefile Raditaola is working on another project called Face it in association with Steps International and endorsed by the Vision 2016 Council.

Raditaola said the intention is to help integrate ex-convicts back to society and help shape the behavior of out of school youth who are at crime risk.

The shooting of the 24 minute 13 episode will start end of February followed by outreach campaigns to reach out to the community in an effort to curb the stigma meted out to ex-convicts.

The episodes which will feature a number of ex-convicts follows on the interesting 60 minute Trip to Maun drama which also focused on behavioral change. However Raditaola says he is not making any money from these projects but just doing it out of passion.

OVERTHRUST COMES OF AGE

OVERTHRUST

OVERTHRUST

Overthrust Rock band was formed a way back, towards the end of  2008 and the band became active for the very first time in 2010.

This band was formed by Tshomarelo Mosaka aka Vulture Thrust, Shalton Monnawadikgang aka Spencer Thrust, Gakeitse Bothalentwa aka Suicide Torment and Balang Folai aka Bist.

The band is currently based in Gantsi where it was started.

The band plays extreme rock music usually known as old school death metal. Overthrust will be releasing their long awaited album end of January 2013 and will be launched in Cape Town on Sat 02 February 2013.

This album was first recorded in April 2012 and was completed end of December 2012.

The name of the album is “Desecrated Deeds To Decease” with 9 tracks including Freedom in the dark as a bonus track.

Overthrust will be launching their album around Botswana this year.

Freedom in the dark is the song that gave the band a breakthrough, which saw them being featured well-known European Magazines such as Vice Magazine from UK, Webzine from France and attracting the attention of Swedish and American photojournalists.

Thato ( Terompeta)

Thato ( Terompeta)

THATO’S TRUMPET

She probably has one of the biggest gospel voices in the country, which makes her to stand out.

Terompeta is the album title and the most played song from the album. However my favourite will always be Mang kappa mang, the first song on the album.

The spirit of revival seem to have enveloped the country and God’s name is being shouted from every corner of the street, including social media and  Thato also decided to throw in her words.

It is a soothing album, sung with maturity and the message is crystal clear.

Other songs in the album are Binema Morena, Jeso wa mathom, O a galalela, Jeso ke Mmoloki wa me, Bala maego a gago and Modimo wa metholo.

It is a beautiful uplifting product and gets 7 out of 10.
