BIG WEEKED 14.12.12

For the duo of Thomas Dobela (19) and Nsununguli Machiki (22) making it big in the entertainment industry is a calling.

The Tutume born artists’ new six track album titled Roundin will hit the shelves next week Friday.

The album was recorded at Owens’ Productions and features Gwaviva, Zolasko and the producer Owen.

The young men started their music at school, doing accapella before finally introducing beats to their songs.

The house kwasa duo definitely has the energy to entertain.

It looks like Maun is the place to be this festive season, no more Swakopmund or Durban.

Maun is no doubt the country’s tourism pride, apparently hotels and lodges there have decided to go big on their Christmas specials, some accommodation prices have been slashed in half  that is if one books before Christmas Day.

There will be music and football this festive, Centre Chiefs and Township Rollers will be in the area to paint the town blue, black, yellow and white.

Thebe of Kalawa Jazmee and Black Motion will perfom at Club Trekkers on the 28th and 29th respectively.

On 30th December there will be a Tourism Appreciation Day which will involve scenic flights, mokoro trips, game drives and boat cruises.

Now that sounds like fun.

Mlesho has definitely moved on form that Slizer/Cobra drama. The talented artist has just dropped his album titled Amboya and it is hot.

There is maturity about this album and a bit of emotion in it. The eight track album has songs like Shamboko, Touch, Ngwana mme, Baile, This time, Toronyana and my favourite Amboya.

It is perfect response from Mlesho who has been under Slizer’s shadows for too long and this album is perhaps what could take him to the next level and show Mlesho as a capable artist.

You asked for amboya, now you’ve got it. It gets 8 out of 10.

The annual Monate fela gig (24th)  is back and this time around even bigger.

Dj Cleo who was supposed to be in the list will be replaced by Dr Malinga, apparently Cleo has another gig in the USA, also in the line are Dj Fresh, Black Motion, Kellz, Rocco, Easy B, Chrispin and Kuchi.

M-Cees for the night would be Edgar and Dollarmac.

The show starts at 10AM till 6AM the next day at Railway Stadium in Mahalapye.

Tickets are already on sale in all Liquorama outlets in Gaborone and Mahalapye. Tickets cost P100 in advance or P150 in advance.

Cresta Botsalo Hotel will host the First Annual Palapye New Year’s Bash on 31st and have invited South African Bujo Mujo who will perform, alongside a host of local artists.

Tickets for the show cost P250 for VIP and P150 for others.
