Botswana Police Commissioner, Keabetswe Makgophe is expected to be the chief walker at a sponsored walk meant to raise funds for crime prevention activities.

Spokesperson for No 1 District crime prevention executive committee, Motsholathebe Mothibi revealed that the walk would be followed by a Gala dinner to be hosted at Thapama Hotel tomorrow evening.

Mothibi who is also the station commander of Kutlwano Police said the objective of the walk and the gala dinner is to raise funds and to sensitize the community on crime prevention measures as we approach the festive season. He also said the purpose of the day is to promote fitness.

He said the 10km walk would start from Kutlwano police station and end at Ntshe House.

Tickets for the dinner are available for P300 per person and Mothibi called upon residents of Francistown and surrounding areas to buy tickets and attended the event to help raise funds for crime prevention.
